Day 7 - Sansol to Logorno
We left the Palacio before 7.30am to walk to the next town, Torres del Rio, for breakfast, only 1km!!! No croissants so it was a type of omelette in a mini baguette, unusual but good to get us the 10+km to Viana for lunch.
The route was winding and up and down, through vineyards and olive groves. The weather was cool and breezy with thick cloud cover which meant it was a very pleasant morning. The heat and long walk yesterday left us with sore feet and a blister here or there, so cool feet was a god send.
Mostly the route was on tracks, with some short spells on the road, which was winding and occupied by motorbikes that appeared to have just been at the TT on the Isle of Man!!!
Lovely lunch in Viana and and then another 10km or so to Logrono. As it was cool it seemed like the easiest day. Sadly 31km tomorrow so hoping the feet recover a bit!!
As we reached Logrono we entered Rioja
Beer in the square then found the apartment which is great and literally about 20m from the square so very central.
There is a famous pinchos (tapas) crawl in Logrono, so that is the evening sorted!!
Today's route...
so… did you finally get your glass or rioja in rioja?!?! suspense is killing me
ReplyDeleteOf course!!! Just the 1 or 2!!
