Day 16 - Boadilla del Camino to Carrion de los Condes

The pilgrim meal last night was great fun, we met an Australian lady, Tess, who is over to celebrate her 60th, and an American guy Joe who is a wine producer from Colarado, but is travelling the world for about 17 months.

After a night of thunder, lightning and torrential rain, interspersed with storks making their clapping sound, we left Boadilla del Camino about 6.20am and after a short walk out of town, we were on the canal, heading in the direction of Fromista.

As we reached the outskirts of Fromista, we crossed a lock system on the canal.  To be fair it looked like it hadn't been used for quite some time!

We had breakfast in Fromista and left Mitch to visit the health centre to get his blisters checked!  Depending on the outcome, he was going to either catch us up or meet us at the end in Carrion de los Condes.

The three of us continued on, once out of Fromista we were walking alongside a road. This was pretry much all we did all day!!

We walked through Poblacion de Campos and on to Revenga de Campos where we stopped for a drink and boiled eggs. As we left we spotted this chap

We knew Mitch was now on his way so we strolled on till we reached Villalcazar de Sierga where we stopped for lunch and for Mitch to catch us. The Dr had applied dressings and he had also been to the pharmacy for more dressings so all good!

After lunch where we bumped into Tia Maria for the first time in ages, we headed on to Carrion de los Condes. Only 6km left but the same old straight road!  Games were required and we played the alphabet game, first male actors, then female and finally film or television characters!  Finally we were hear.

For the first time we paid first a load of washing, what a treat! We went out for a great meal, and are now falling asleep, ready for another day!!

Today's route...
